The Great Commandment
“Teacher, what is the most important commandment in the Law?” Jesus answered, “’Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind.’ This is the first and most important commandment. The second most important commandment is like this one. And it is, ‘Love others as much as you love yourself’. All the Law of Moses and Books of the Prophets are based on these two commandments.”

In these verses we find two very important purposes for life: “love the Lord your God”, which is worship; and “love others as much as you love yourself”, which is missions and ministry.
The Great Commission
“Go to the people of all nations and make them my disciples. Baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and teach them to do everything I have told you. I will be with you always, even until the end of the world.”
Matthew 28:19-20 (CEV)
In these verses we find three more very important life purposes: “go…and make them my disciples”, which is evangelism; “baptize them”, which is fellowship; and “teach them to do everything I have told you”, which is discipleship.
