The World Is Broken
We probably don't need to convince you of that. Every day we see evidence of it: war, injustice, disease, loneliness, betrayal, and death. We experience it in our own lives through disappointment, regret, and broken relationships. The question is not whether something is wrong with the world. The question is: Why is it broken, and can it be fixed? We believe God has given us the answer. The Bible calls that answer the Gospel, which means "good news."

How Did We Get Here?
The Bible teaches that there is one God who created everything. "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth" (Genesis 1:1). When God created the world, it was good. There was no death, suffering, or separation from Him. Humanity was created to know God, enjoy Him, and live under His loving rule. But humanity rebelled. Instead of trusting God, we chose our own way. The Bible calls this sin. Through sin, death and corruption entered the world (Romans 5:12). The brokenness we see around us is not merely the result of bad circumstances. It is the result of humanity's rebellion against the God who made us. And the problem is not just "out there." It is in each of us. We have all sinned. We have all ignored God, rejected His authority, and chosen our own path. Because God is holy and just, our sin separates us from Him and leaves us deserving of His judgment (Ephesians 2:1-3).

God's Response to Our Rebellion
If the story ended there, there would be no hope. But God did not abandon us. "But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us..." (Ephesians 2:4) Out of His love, God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, into the world. Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, and lived a perfect life without sin. He did what none of us could do. Yet the very people He came to save rejected Him. When Jesus offered people the Kingdom of God, they responded with hatred, torture, and death. He was mocked, beaten, and crucified. And He willingly endured it. Jesus said, "I lay down my life... No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord" (John 10:17-18).

The Cross Changes Everything
The death Jesus died was not an accident. It was God's plan to rescue sinners. Because of our sin, we deserve God's judgment. Yet Jesus took our punishment upon Himself. On the cross, He stood in our place. "He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf" (2 Corinthians 5:21). Jesus paid the debt we could never pay. Then He was buried in a tomb. Three days later, He rose from the dead. His resurrection proved that sin had been defeated, death had been conquered, and His sacrifice had been accepted by God (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). Because Jesus lives, there is hope. Death does not get the final word.

What Does God Ask of Us?
God's invitation is simple. Repent and believe. To repent means more than feeling sorry for your sins. It means turning away from your rebellion against God and turning toward Him. It is a change of heart, mind, and direction. To believe means more than agreeing that Jesus existed. It means trusting Him completely as your Savior and King. Jesus calls us to follow Him because He alone can save us.
Salvation is not earned by good works, religious effort, or personal improvement. It is a gift of God's grace received through faith in Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:8-9).

What Happens When You Follow Jesus?
When a person turns to Christ in faith, God forgives their sins and makes them new. "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation" (2 Corinthians 5:17). God gives His Holy Spirit to live within His people, guiding and strengthening them (Ephesians 1:13-14). Life gains a new purpose, a new direction, and a living hope that cannot be taken away. And this is not the end of the story. One day Jesus will return, defeat evil forever, and make all things new.

Can God Forgive Someone Like Me?
Yes. No sin is greater than God's grace. No failure is beyond His mercy. No person is too far gone. Jesus came to save sinners, and He has already made a way for you to be reconciled to God. The question is not whether God is willing to save. The question is whether you are willing to trust Him.

Ready to Follow Jesus?
Following Jesus begins with repentance and faith. A prayer does not save you. Jesus does. But if you are ready to place your trust in Him, a prayer like this can help you express that faith to God:
"Jesus, I admit that I am a sinner and have sinned against You. I am sorry for my sin, and I turn away from my rebellion against You. I believe that You died on the cross for my sins and rose again from the dead. I trust You alone to save me. Please forgive me, make me new, and help me follow You as my Lord and Savior. Thank You for Your mercy, Your grace, and the gift of eternal life. Amen."
