Operations team

The goal of the operations department is to serve the physical needs of the church when it comes to the use of the campus and facility. We work behind the scenes to make our space welcoming and inviting to all our guests.   We have lots of places within our operations team for you to get plugged in!  We'd love for you to join us!

Handyman Crews + Support

The different Handyman Crews provide many ways to serve behind the scenes, helping to keep our church property, facilities, and ministries running smoothly. Whether it’s mowing the lawn, fixing things around the building, assisting with special projects, or using professional trade skills, these teams work together to create a welcoming and well-maintained environment for our church family and community. Opportunities range from seasonal commitments like mowing, to flexible, as-needed handyman work, to monthly service projects that directly bless those in need. By volunteering with Operations, you can use your hands and skills in practical ways that make a lasting impact and reflect Christ’s love through service.

Event Kitchen Team

The Event Kitchen Team lovingly prepares and serves meals for church events, such as funeral family meals and senior adult luncheons, fostering comfort and community. Led by our kitchen director, this women-led team requires a commitment of approximately 4-6 hours per event, including prep and cleanup, with events occurring monthly or as needed. Join us to share your gifts of hospitality and care!

Security Team

The Evergreen Security Ministry is a volunteer staffed ministry we call the Watchmen, in reference to Nehemiah 4:9 “And we prayed to our God and set a guard as a protection against them day and night.” The Watchmen are carefully selected through background checks and interviews, and then trained to a high standard with radios, handguns, first aid and emergency response team tactics. A Watchman usually spends 4 months in initial training and learning how to protect God’s people, then will be assigned to serve on 2 teams of their choosing as best fit their family. Typically, a Watchman may serve 3 hours monthly on duty. Additionally, Watchmen train 4 times annually for about 4 hours each time to keep their skills sharp. Most Watchmen serve at armed posts, but there are several roles, like Dispatchers, who are not required to be armed. If you feel called to serve Jesus by helping keep His people safe, please contact your nearest Watchman and ask for an interview.

Library Clerk Team

The Library Clerks Team, guided by our church librarian, manages our church library by processing checkouts and returns, setting up accounts for book borrowing, and handling book donations to support our members and leaders in teaching and training. Volunteers enjoy flexible service times, typically committing a few hours weekly or as needed, based on their availability. Join us to help provide a valuable resource for spiritual growth and education in our church community!
